They weren't in the spotlight, but without them, none of this would have been possible. The opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which thrilled Africa this Saturday, October 31st, at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, was their doing. Discover the architects of this masterpiece.
It was more than an opening ceremony. It was a statement. This Saturday, October 31, 2026, Senegal made African history in the Olympic Games, in front of a packed stadium in Diamniadio. If the whole world is applauding today, it's thanks to a 100% Senegalese team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Seneweb reveals the architects of this historic success:
The mastermind behind it all is Xalil Cissé (Artistic Direction), as Seneweb had announced. He's the one who conceived this Africa, both grounded and futuristic, which dazzled the 206 delegations. A true, powerful vision that magnificently represented the continent.

Alongside him was the meticulous director of ceremonies, Khady Niang, who ran the event with a firm hand.
masterful. Every minute, every entrance, every painting was meticulously planned.

To bring this vision to life, Adama Diop, who directed the show, transformed the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium pitch into a vast, vibrant stage. The performance was fluid, rhythmic, and without a single dull moment.

And what a soul! The emotion came from Iss 814 (Musical Creation). His compositions made the hearts of an entire stadium beat faster.
And when the dancers entered...
The magic happened thanks to Marianne Niox, whose team handled the overall choreography. Her performances had Africa dancing, with an energy that brought the house down.

All of this was brilliantly orchestrated by Minuss Niang, on the artistic coordination side, the linchpin who brought all these talents together to make them one.

That evening of October 31st was not just the launch of the Games. It was proof that Senegal has the talent, the men and women, to organize the world.
